Patient Privacy and Security
Alabama One Health Record® uses a combination of safeguards to protect patient health information. Technical safeguards include encryption password protection, and the ability to audit user trails. Other technical safeguards used include written policies controlling access to information. All participating providers and health insurers are also regulated by federal and state privacy laws. Alabama One Health Record® is also the HITRUST Common Security Framework (CSF) Certified.
Examples of security measures used by Alabama One Health Record® include secured login, identification of the requestor, and measures to prevent forwarding or copying of information.
If you do NOT want your information to be shared by Alabama One Health Record®, you have the right to ask that your medical information not be disclosed or shared by the Alabama One Health Record® system. Your choice to opt-out of the health information exchange will not affect your ability to access medical care. If you wish to opt-out, please contact your provider for an “Opt-Out” form or contact Alabama One Health Record® at www.onehealthrecord.alabama.gov .
